Pathways Mental Health Services

Our mental health team of therapists and counselors works with
individuals, children, couples and families (traditional or blended).
Our team is skilled and well trained to meet your mental health needs
whether as an individual, couple and/or family.

Counseling, Therapy, and Mental Health Services

Adolescents Services - Our work with adolescents in middle and high school
revolves around building their socialization skills and self-esteem. As youth
find their identity, they are faced with many challenges.  Our approach with
adolescents is multisystemic, as some of them have had involvement with the
juvenile justice system.

Adoption Evaluation - These services are for couples who are planning to
adopt internationally and need to fulfil the psychological or mental health
assessment requirements of the particular countries that they are planning to
adopt from.

Couples Therapy - This employs a systemic approach with couples who want
to improve their relationship. We work with heterosexual as well as gay and
lesbian couples.

Clinical Supervision - This is offered to therapists in training who are seeking
licensure in the state of Oregon to practice as counselors or therapists.

Employee Assistance Program - This service is a  benefit for employees of
businesses that choose to participate in the program. This particular
assessment and counseling is free to employees and employers pay for these
services. Please make sure that your company's EAP reimburses our services
or  ask your EAP company to add us in their provider list.

Family Therapy -  In working with families our approach is Functional Family
Therapy (FFT). FFT is an empirically based theory that uses a systemic family
approach to assist  members of a family in dealing with a variety of situations
that are affecting them.

Mental Health Assessment/Evaluation - This service is a  written assessment
conducted by a master or doctoral level counselor or therapist in our office.
This assessment is often required by the court system.

Play Therapy for Children - This area of counseling practice is grounded in
the play therapy model. Children communicate through their play, which is
very different from the way adults express their thoughts and feelings. Adults
have the verbal capabilities to express their thoughts and feelings. Children
utilize toys and play to explore and process their emotions.

Premarital & Marital Therapy - Again, this type of therapy employs a
systemic approach to understand that each unit of the system affects the
other. Many times unresolved issues from our family-of-origin remain presents,
but often couples are not aware that they are reliving those situations.
Whether heterosexual or gay, lesbian, and bisexual, we are proficient in
working with these types of couples.

Substance Abuse Assessment & Counseling - This is one of the areas that
we also cover in our practice. We conduct Alcohol & Drug assessment using
ASAM PPC-2R criteria, paper & pencil questionnaires like AUDIT, ADIS, CAGE
and ongoing outpatient treatment.
